Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
1. Introduction
SkillMarket Hub ("we", "us", or "our") operates an online marketplace connecting clients with freelance talent. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website and services (the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register.
- Job listing information: job titles, descriptions, required skills, pricing, company name, location, and any contact email or phone number you choose to include in a posting.
- Payment information: when you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Razorpay. We store the resulting order ID, payment ID, amount, and status — we do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank account details ourselves.
- Usage information: basic technical data such as log information and how you interact with the Service, to help us maintain and improve it.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate you when you log in.
- To display job listings and connect clients with freelancers.
- To process subscription payments and apply the correct plan to your account.
- To send account-related notifications, such as job status updates or payment confirmations.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Information you include in a public job posting (such as a contact email or phone number) is visible to other users of the Service.
- With Razorpay, our payment processor, solely to complete and verify subscription payments.
- When required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SkillMarket Hub, our users, or others.
5. Data Retention
We retain account, job listing, and payment records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including hashing account passwords and using a trusted third-party processor for payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Choices
You can review and update your account information from your profile page at any time. You may request that we delete your account and associated personal information by contacting us using the details below, subject to any records we are required to retain by law.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
